Sonde Housing

Sonde housing can be defined as a housing for the drill string with a cylindrical cavity to house a transmitter sonde.

There are two types of housing namely the end-load sonde housing and the side-load sonde housing. The sonde housing protects the instrument from loss or damage during drilling operations. The sonde placed inside the drill head transmits electromagnetic signals that are used to track the progress of the drill head.

The results are displayed on a monitor as the walkover proceeds.
